cbo-1cbo-2By now I’m sure most of us have seen the mouth watering image above because it’s been blasted across the networks for the last few days. Today I took the liberty of indulging in one of these masterpieces of modern marketing myself and my findings are recorded in the image at left and in my following comments. I opted for “take away” and the image at left is what I got home with. The top of the bun had received a half moon squirt of Mayo or some sort of “secret sauce” splattered with a dollop of caramelized onions (the dark brown stuff) right in the middle. I couldn’t tell if the bottom bun had any “secret sauce” because a slice of melted cheese had a huge 1/3 lb. portion of meat glued to it. That was followed by another slice of cheese and 3 paper thin slices of bacon. At first bite I found the burger to be only slightly warm and very dry. As I had discovered many years and many “take aways” ago that 20 seconds in a microwave in its original container will do wonders for any dry burger. After warming, the beef patty had excellent flavor and became reasonably moist. The dollop of caramelized onions and the 3 slices of “paper thin” bacon offered just a small hint of those 2 flavors. All in all- It’s a decent burger for $4 and change. On my burger scale of 1 to 10 – – –  I would say about a 6.
